Abstrakt

Synthesis and free radical polymerization of N-[4-chloro-2-methyl phenyl] maleimide and characterization of homo and copolymer

The synthesis of N-[4-chloro-2-methyl phenyl] maleimide (CMPMI) was described. The homopolymer of CMPAMI and copolymerwithmethylmethacrylate (MMA) was synthesized by free radical copolymerization. The homo and copolymers were characterized by solubility, intrinsic viscosity, density, FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The thermal properties of homo and copolymer were studied by thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA).
