Synthesis And Applications Of Interpenetrating Polymer Network Of Thiourea-Melamine-Formaldehyde And Polyacrylic Acid As Selective Adsorbent For Preconcentrating And Separating Trace Metal Ions From Solution Samples
Sui Wang, Linxi Hou, Feng Jiang
An interpenetrating polymer network(IPN) of thiourea-melamine-formaldehyde (TUMF) polymer and polyacrylic acid(PAA) was synthesized, and the adsorption characteristics of the IPN as chelating adsorbent were studied in details. The experimental results show that trace Mo(III), Cr(III), Pb(II), In(III), Hg(II), V(V) and Ga(III) ions can be enriched quantitatively by 0.1 g of the IPN adsorbent at pH 5, with recoveries >95%.The enrichment acidity, elution conditions, foreign ions, saturated adsorption capacity, analytical precision and accuracy, and real samples on chelating TUMF-PAA adsorbent were investigated by determination means of flame atomic absorption spectrometry(FAAS). The results obtained for these ions in real samples by this method were basically in agreement with the given values with average errors of less than 5.0%. In addition, the FT-IR spectra of TUMF-PAA alone and that of TUMFPAA saturated with metal ions were primarily discussed.
