Chromatographic fingerprint analysis-an approach for herbalmedicines

Quality, safety and efficacy of herbal drugs have to be ensured to provide sound scientific footing to enhance consumer confidence and to improve business prospects for herbal medicines globally. Therefore, very efficient and selective methods, including the extraction techniques are required for identification and quantitative analysis of the active compounds or drug standardization. Chromatographic fingerprinting representsmain technique applied in this field due to their powerful separation efficiency combined with sensitive detection.
